Welcome to My New Blog

Who is / was Dalton Hawk
Let me start off by introducing myself. My name is Dalton Hawk. You may know me, you may not. If you search me on google, you will find all kinds of pictures and websites talking about me like I am somebody important…
Fact: I am a nobody. A former somebody who still wasn’t really anybody but pretended to be important so people thought I was… Confused? I don’t blame you. Let me explain.
Back in 2014, I got an idea. I decided that I would start a couple of social media accounts, buy some followers, and make myself look important. I took some half decent photos of myself and edited the crap out of them until I looked like a model. Then I spent hours each day following people, usually celebrities, all the while, I was buying more and more followers to make myself look like I was one myself.
Maybe you’re familiar with the old saying “fake it til you make it”. Well that’s exactly what I did. Eventually I had purchased in excess of 50,000 fake twitter followers and 10,000+ Instagram followers. Then I used a software that would work all day and like peoples photos on social media based on hashtags that had similar interests to what I was into.
My angle was and has always been fitness. I have been into working out since I was like 14 or younger so I was in decent shape at the time. I had the skinny boy six pack, decent sized biceps, and lots of gym selfies on my phone… Yes, I was one of THOSE guys… I was 17 years old, in college, and at a point in my life where I really needed some validation. This really seemed to do the trick for me. I remember feeling like I was finally getting somewhere in life. Maybe this would be the start of my fame and fortune.
At the height of my “Stardom”, I had around 250,000 Twitter followers and 40,000 Instagram followers. Granted, half of them were fake bots but I really didn’t care because nobody knew and I was getting messages from models, actresses, businesses, and NFL cheerleaders. I mean, come on… This is every teenage guys dream. I had finally established myself on the internet to the point that companies were reaching out to me to review their products, try on their clothes, and sample their supplements. I remember getting a box in the mail from Krispy Kreme with all kinds of goodies. They wanted me to take photos and share on my page. I did that happily which led to even more exposure, more sponsorships, and more followers. At one point, I even got invited as a VIP guest to a concert in Hershey, PA where I literally had the best seat in the whole venue behind a roped off section of the stadium. I got a little taste of what fame might feel like.
Fast forward a couple months. It’s February of 2015, I’ve had about a year or so of this life and I am really enjoying it and all of it’s perks. I decided to go on a missions trip to Kona, Hawaii with a local church and a couple of my close friends to help restore a YWAM base out there. We did some painting, some landscaping, things like that. At the end of each day, we would walk down to the beach and relax as the sun would set. This was truly a lifestyle I could get used to.
Here is where tragedy hits: About 3 days into my 2 week trip to Hawaii, I notice that my emails are no longer receiving or sending. Next, my Instagram account locks me out, then… My Twitter account with all those followers disappears and I can’t access it anymore. I am seriously frantic… Trying to reach Instagram headquarters. They simply tell me that they are not allowed to do anything without proof of ownership. Same thing with Twitter… I am to the point where I am on my knees and begging God to help me. I was crying like a little baby. Knowing that all my “hard work” was gone. My email was gone, all social media accounts… gone… life as I knew it was over.
Then things get kinda freaky: Next, I get a phone call from a blocked number… I answer it. A voice says “Hello Dalton, I’m sure you are wondering who I am and why I have taken all of your accounts hostage. My plan is to sell all of them. If you want them back, you can pay me $100,000 (or something like that) or else you can’t have them back.” I think there was an evil laugh after that or maybe I just imagined that because this was cruel and evil…
Needless to say, this was the last time I ever heard from them or saw my accounts. Their usernames were changed and the idiot even made a fake account with my old username so that I couldn’t have it back… Jerk wad -_- I struggled with some serious identity theft for a while after this including stolen credit cards etc…
To this day, I have never had the time or the energy to try and rebuild my social media accounts to the way that they were. Few followers bothered to find me again after that tragedy. Today I have only a few thousand followers on either platform and I rarely even use them.
Over the course of the last few years, I have been on and off of the fitness train. One year, I am completely jacked and the next year, I turn into the Michelin Man.
3 years ago I weighed in at 135lbs with difficulty gaining weight.
Recently, I hit 200lbs and now I am having difficulty losing the excess fat.
Starting next week, my wife and I are going to be starting a NutriSystem program for the next 2 months. My goal is to get down in the 170lb range and get very lean again.
I will be updating this blog with my progress, ideas, workouts, and anything that you may find helpful.
